Alex graduated from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2014 and holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business; he is also a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA). 

Outside work, Alex is a GO (Weiqi) player at a semiprofessional level.
